Rosacea, “The Curse of The Celts”.

Rosacea is a long-term skin condition, characterized by facial redness, small and superficial dilated blood vessels on facial skin, papules (small bumps), pustules, and swelling. It is three time more common in women than in men, affects all ages, but is most commonly found in people between the ages of 30 & 50.

Whilst avoiding certain foods (i.e., tea, coffee, alcohol, spicy foods) and other triggers (such as stress and extreme weather conditions) can help with the condition, one’s skincare regime plays a major role in reducing the symptoms of rosacea. Here’s how Little Red products can help:

Organic rosehip oil:

The vitamins and essential fatty acids that occur naturally in cold-pressed rosehip oil possess anti-inflammatory properties, known to heal and soothe damaged or dilated capillaries, which cause the redness of rosacea. Rosehip oil delivers a natural boost to the regenerative ability of your skin cells, and can actually help your body repair unsightly marks of rosacea and other skin conditions.

Organic jojoba oil:

Renowned for its healing properties, jojoba oil has an identical molecular structure to our natural skin oil, sebum. Its rich moisturising elements can effectively penetrate deep into the skin and reduce swelling and redness via its anti-inflammatory properties. It unblocks pores (caused by blood pooling associated with rosacea), provides a human sebum-like cover, and acts as a barrier needed to protect the affected skin and prevent itchiness and dehydration.

Organic avocado oil:

Rich in unsaturated fats, avocado oil promotes a softer skin by keeping cells deep down hydrated, and helps to fight rosacea’s adverse effects of facial reddening, itchiness and dryness.
